Trialing Our Classrooms with Our First Group of Students!

Just before Christmas, we had the incredible opportunity to trial our classrooms for the very first time, welcoming a wonderful group of students for an immersive teacher training and English language programme.

While our new language school is still in progress, this was a special moment for UKG Language—bringing our vision to life as we prepare for the big opening!

Fun & Interactive Lessons

Over the course of one week, students worked to improve their English language skills through engaging, hands-on lessons. Led by our Director of Teaching and Learning, Imogen, the programme focused on:

  • Classroom Culture – Building an inclusive and dynamic learning environment
  • Pronunciation Techniques – Strengthening communication and fluency
  • Creativity in Teaching – Encouraging innovative and engaging lesson planning
  • Multisensory Learning Strategies – Incorporating movement and interaction into lessons
  • Using Authentic Materials – Bringing real-world context into English learning

The lessons were fun, interactive, and designed to build confidence in using English, helping students develop skills they could take back to their own classrooms.

Beyond the Classroom – Exploring the UK

It wasn’t all about studying! The group had the chance to explore the beauty and culture of the UK, including trips to:

  • The South Coast Beaches – Taking in the fresh sea air and stunning sea views.
  • Ringwood – Touring the charming market town and surrounding countryside.
  • The New Forest – Experiencing the natural beauty of the New Forest through guided excursions.

By fully immersing themselves in British life, students had the perfect balance of education and adventure—making their experience both meaningful and unforgettable.

Student Reflections – In Their Own Words

Here’s what our students had to say about their experience.

“This programme has enabled me to learn some different teaching methods such as , more in-class practical operations, classroom games and classroom drills, especially those targeting students”.

“This programme makes me know more about English teaching methods, & key rules about how to teach our kids the real & useful English, it’s very helpful for me, and also for my students”.

“The most important thing I benefit from this training is that teaching and learning happens everywhere, everything happened here is a treasure for me now and in the future”.

“Special thanks to my dearest teacher Imogen Sayer, and the UKG Language team Helen Herridge, Mark Bloodworth photographer Elise Gigg, you made our training trip meaningful, fulfilled and wonderful!”.

Looking Ahead – A Bright Future for UKG Language

Experiences like these are why we are so passionate about what we do! We’re proud to provide a space where students can grow in confidence, develop their skills, and gain practical knowledge that they can take back to their own classrooms.

This is just the beginning! As we trial our classrooms in preparation for the grand opening of our new school, we look forward to welcoming even more students into this exciting learning environment.
