Provision Mentor
Support, guide and inspire young people
to re-engage with learning
We are looking for a motivated and supportive Alternative Provision Mentor to work with young people who may be facing barriers to education. This role focuses on building positive relationships, delivering engaging learning experiences and helping students develop the skills and confidence they need to move forward.
The Role
As an AP Mentor at UKG Learning, you will work closely with young people both on-site and in the community, supporting them through personalised learning and practical activities. You will help remove barriers to learning, improve engagement and support students with a range of social, emotional and educational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Work 1:1 and in small groups to support learning and development
- Deliver differentiated activities tailored to individual needs
- Support students with SEND, SEMH and additional needs
- Plan and deliver both on-site and off-site learning sessions
- Carry out risk assessments for off-site activities
- Transport students to activities where required
- Support literacy and numeracy development
- Deliver practical, vocational and life skills sessions
- Manage behaviour positively and create a safe learning environment
- Build strong, professional relationships with students
- Support careers guidance and attend external events where needed
- Record progress, session reviews and any incidents
- Maintain accurate student records and data

What We’re Looking For

- Ability to build strong relationships with young people
- Experience or interest in working with SEND or SEMH needs
- Confidence managing behaviour in a calm and professional way
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Willingness to work flexibly and adapt to student needs
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred
